HEALTH Malaria: Hundreds turn out for a sports walk in Yaoundé hundreds march in Yaounde in build-up to the celebration of world malaria day It is a Saturday, April 20, 2019 and 6 A.M in Yaounde, political capital of the Republic of Cameroon. We are at the esplanade of Ministry of Public Health which on the opposite direction shares boundaries with the National Museum of Cameroon. Taxis ply the roads few meters away from the ministry and people; both young and old, from primary schools, secondary and higher institutions of learning stream in. SOCIETY 2019 International Women's Day Chantal Biya international Reference Centre organizes health talk ahead of Women’s day The event took place at the headquarters of the Chantal Biya International Reference for the prevention and fight against HIV/AIDS on March 6, 2019. The health talk that had as theme, “Knowledge, attitude, practice and perception of HIV/AIDS and viral Hepatitis” was part on week long activities leading up to the celebration of the 34 th International Women’s day on March 8, 2019.   Opening the session that lasted close to 3 hours, the Director of the Chantal Biya International Reference Centre with French acronym, CIRCB, Prof. NDJOLO Alexix took participants through the history behind the celebration of the International Women’s day and noting that the woman in the past (though one cannot confidently say it no longer happens today) was subjected to many abuses and all forms of discrimination. SOCIETY Anglophone crisis: Cameroon  Life in Bamenda an unending drama experiences of Bamenda denizens during ghost towns and its untold pains  It is 6:00 Am in Bamenda, Northwest Region of Cameroon. The rays of the sun radiate from the skies and the dust is visible on rooftops in a popular road junction called Mobile, just a few meters below the steep Up-station Hill. A glance from a popular fuel station painted in red and white, you can see people engrossed in their normal activities. On the long stretch that runs from the popular Mobile to another busy junction called Mile 2, vehicles are cruising bumper to bumper, with painted yellow cars used as taxis here outnumbering the over 600 cars from a random count. The latter, tells of a busy day here, where life is on the move. The doors of shops have already flown open ready to receive customers. The charismatic preacher is said to have gone missing since December 31, 2018 till date Apostle Divine C Okafor has unavoidably been absent in church, reports say I read from a source out of Cameroon which says it's been closer to the clergy, Apostle Divine C. Okafor of the Life Transformers' Ministry in Mutengene, SWR of Cameroon that he is rumored to have died and is in a mortuary in Nigeria. Source says he has gone missing during the end of year events and even members of the church do not know what is happening to the under shepherd and that even his family is gone.
