THE MAN KUOH JOHNSON NGAM The former mayor of Fundong Council, Kuoh Johnson died last Monday July 22, 2019 at the age of 66 and laid to rest on Saturday July 27, 2019 in his family compound at Meli in Fundong Central subdivision. late mayor Kuoh Johnson Ngam Family life Kuoh Johnson N. was the third child in a family of six. He grew up and got married to two wives (regrettably one is of late) and they bore him 3 sons and 3 boys (two of the children are of late too). From the family sources, he has been a kind and good father. “ He was a good father who adopted and raised so many children who called him father.” Family source says. Education and work life   He attended primary school in Anyajua where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) and from there moved to the South West Regional capital, Buea for secondary school studies. Society Kanuri cry out to Government Kanuri people last Saturday July 13 th , 2019, meeting at Toungou Hotel, in Yaoundé-Cameroon called on the Government and stakeholders to sensitize the populations and the security forces to stop the stigma against them . This was the substance of an official declaration made during an intra-community dialogue session in Yaounde. The dialogue session was organised within the context of the Voices For Peace project implemented by Equal Access Cameroon (EAC) and financed by USAID. Saturday’s dialogue session was the 18 th  in a series and brought together Kanuri people living in Yaoundé. SICKLE CELL Voices of sicklers and carriers As part of activities leading up to the commemoration of this year’s sickle cell day on Wednesday June 19, 2019 in Cameroon, Joy to Endure Foundation of Arrey Echi in partnership with Etoug-Ebe Baptist Hospital on Saturday, June 15, 2019 organised a Sickle Cell Disease (SCD ) free screening campaign at Etoug-Ebe Baptist Hospital where over a hundred turned out. SCD free screening at Etoug-Ebe Baptist Hospita  Highlights of the event included educational talks, awareness, sensitization and counseling. Focal persons during the event were Doctor Budzi Michael, a General Practitioner who has taken keen interest in SCD, Arrey Echi who since 2015 has decided to use her experiences to raise awareness and usher in a new dawn for those living with sickle cell. HEALTH Malaria: Hundreds turn out for a sports walk in Yaoundé hundreds march in Yaounde in build-up to the celebration of world malaria day It is a Saturday, April 20, 2019 and 6 A.M in Yaounde, political capital of the Republic of Cameroon. We are at the esplanade of Ministry of Public Health which on the opposite direction shares boundaries with the National Museum of Cameroon. Taxis ply the roads few meters away from the ministry and people; both young and old, from primary schools, secondary and higher institutions of learning stream in. SOCIETY 2019 International Women's Day Chantal Biya international Reference Centre organizes health talk ahead of Women’s day The event took place at the headquarters of the Chantal Biya International Reference for the prevention and fight against HIV/AIDS on March 6, 2019. The health talk that had as theme, “Knowledge, attitude, practice and perception of HIV/AIDS and viral Hepatitis” was part on week long activities leading up to the celebration of the 34 th International Women’s day on March 8, 2019.   Opening the session that lasted close to 3 hours, the Director of the Chantal Biya International Reference Centre with French acronym, CIRCB, Prof. NDJOLO Alexix took participants through the history behind the celebration of the International Women’s day and noting that the woman in the past (though one cannot confidently say it no longer happens today) was subjected to many abuses and all forms of discrimination. SOCIETY Anglophone crisis: Cameroon  Life in Bamenda an unending drama experiences of Bamenda denizens during ghost towns and its untold pains  It is 6:00 Am in Bamenda, Northwest Region of Cameroon. The rays of the sun radiate from the skies and the dust is visible on rooftops in a popular road junction called Mobile, just a few meters below the steep Up-station Hill. A glance from a popular fuel station painted in red and white, you can see people engrossed in their normal activities. On the long stretch that runs from the popular Mobile to another busy junction called Mile 2, vehicles are cruising bumper to bumper, with painted yellow cars used as taxis here outnumbering the over 600 cars from a random count. The charismatic preacher is said to have gone missing since December 31, 2018 till date Apostle Divine C Okafor has unavoidably been absent in church, reports say I read from a source out of Cameroon which says it's been closer to the clergy, Apostle Divine C. Okafor of the Life Transformers' Ministry in Mutengene, SWR of Cameroon that he is rumored to have died and is in a mortuary in Nigeria. Source says he has gone missing during the end of year events and even members of the church do not know what is happening to the under shepherd and that even his family is gone.
